A community mentoring program that targets inner city youth, who are 14 and older that have completed the eighth grade and exposes them to opportunities that they may not otherwise be exposed to. Examples include cultural experiences, professional and collegiate sporting events, accountability, and discipline.
Youth of Tomorrow
The purpose of this after-school program is to provide elementary and middle school-aged youth with activities, assistance with homework, and exercises that will foster their growth and development both academically and physically. The assistance with homework will be aligned to the same state standards used in the classroom.
One of the newest programs of AFI, Youth of Tomorrow provides these children with the opportunity to participate in various areas such as leadership, sports activities, socialization skills, health, safety, hygiene practices, cultural enrichment and music to name a few. Through Youth of Tomorrow, we hope to make a difference in the lives of every child served and assist them in experiencing positive activities and increased self-worth.
